As covered in Conference News Magazine, Event Upcycling Revolt is a Facebook page started by the Champions of Sustainable Events for the upcycling of event materials, furniture, props and more that are leftover from events.

The aim is to build a Facebook community where event managers and members of the public can list these items to give away or sell for use at other events!

What is the Purpose?

  • Build a Community where users can list leftover items from their events.
  • Minimize the cost of creating events through sustainable means.

Find us on Facebook.

What is Event Upcycling?

Event Upcycling is the creative reuse of unwanted products into new materials or products to be used at events. This includes throwaway materials that can be used for bespoke props, Pallet Bars and more.

What is the Difference between Recycling and Upcycling?

Upcycling is a specific form of recycling that turns waste into a material or product of a higher quality.

It is slightly different from Recycling as it is not simply the process of turning waste into a reusable material or product and is not sent to a Recycling Centre to be broken down.

Common Upcycling props/furniture includes Pallet Bars, Christmas Decorations and bespoke props that are made from materials/products that would have otherwise been thrown away.

Why isĀ Event Upcycling important?

Event Upcycling is a smart, efficient and easy way to produce events at a reduced cost, while delivering the same, if not better, quality.

It is a fantastic tool for creating bespoke event props, furniture and decorations, which will give you a very unique event space.

Think about the number of things that are thrown away immediately after an event: why not put this to use?
