Bob Champion MBE

Bob Champion, a former British horse racer and jump jockey, career was at its height in the late 70’s and 1980’s is most well remembered for winning the Grand National in 1981 riding Aldaniti. Regarded a legend of the sport, Bob has developed an impressive portfolio of anecdotal tales and plenty of advice for any audience during talks as a horse racing speaker.

  • Champion was awarded the BBC’s sports personality of the year after his Grand National win
  • His success was made into a film in 1983
  • He has his own book which details his experience battling cancer
  • Bob won his first horse race at the age of 15
  • He was awarded an MBE in 1983 for his services
