The well-known YouTube group, The Sidemen, came to us to not only assist with their annual charity football match, but to also create an amazing after-party for the players and guests.
The annual Sidemen FC and YouTube All Stars charity football match is a world-known annual event that involves all of the biggest YouTube stars and influencers. This year around we would see the Sidemen FC take on the YouTube Allstars.
Starting back in 2015 as the ‘Wembley Cup’, it’s been since 2016, when the Sidemen launched Sidemen F.C. that annual charity football matches have taken place.
However, after being postponed for a couple of years, the Sidemen wanted to have their largest and most successful charity football match yet.
So they came to us after the previous events we did for them to assist with the charity match and to produce and manage an after-party for all of the influencers and guests.
We of course were keen to get started on creating some concepts for them to aid in their overall vision of the event!
We also assisted with the 2023 Sidemen vs YouTube Allstars Charity Match!
Every year this event has a huge amount of eyes on as YouTube stars, influencers and more recently TikTokers take part in the charity match, bringing a global audience to the event!
We worked alongside other companies to deliver a LIVE football match like no other, taking care of the planning and management of various spaces across the football ground. Working alongside several partners including:
On top of that, we were responsible for the organisation of the pre and post-match entertainment including a performance from the one-and-only Chase and Status along with a cheerleader pitch performance.
We also had to ensure smooth Livestream services for the 2.6m LIVE viewers.
To follow the charity football match, our team designed, produced and managed an after-party for all of the YouTube stars and influencers to attend at a separate location on the same day!
We had several teams working at separate sites to pull these events off simultaneously.
The Sidemen and management team were extremely happy with the results, seeing this as the most successful YouTuber charity match to date!
With over 2.6m peak concurrent LIVE viewers on the stream and over £1,074,379 raised for charity in just 3 hours for the designated charities, including Teenage Cancer Trust, CALM, Rays of Sunshine and M7E.
This is of course down to of all of the YouTubers and influencers’ star power and ability to draw in a global audience.
The event far surpassed the £65,747 figure raised at the last Sidemen charity football match in 2018 – so it was a huge success!
You can still donate to this cause and view the stream.
Following the success of this event, we went on to assist with the 2023 Sidemen Charity Match!
More on the After-Party below.
Following the viral Sidemen Charity Match, we organised an after party for all the players, guests, friends and family of the event! (400+ guests)
Our team had a small amount of time to create this party, only given a few weeks’ notice to get all of the wheels moving.
We chose the amazing East Wintergarden venue in Canary Wharf, London to host the party and wanted to completely transform the space!
We wanted the party to be special to mark such a momentous charity football event in the day.
Our team combined several themes together to create a unique concept, mainly going for a black and white/dreamy circus theme to match the XIX brand and create a unique event space. There were also elements of the 1920s theme crossing over this.
Our team began seting up at the venue on the 23rd September, giving us until 24th September to fully transform the East Wintergarden into an unrecognisable event space!
As we were also responsible for the charity match, we had two separate teams working simultaneously – one to transform this venue and one to manage the charity match!
The 2023 Sidemen Charity Football Match was the most successful to date, with over 67,000 in attendance, 2.6m peak concurrent viewers on a stream, raising over £2.4m for charities. We provided full event management services for the event; here’s a run through of the event from start to finish!
We were so proud to be asked to be a part of the management and production of the Sidemen Charity Football Match and After Party.
In this blog we talk about how we planned, designed, installed and managed the Sidemen turn 8 party and XIX Vodka Launch.
We have a team of experts on-hand to deliver an exceptional event to meet the highest standards.
