The Calfreezy £20,000 World Cup Watchzone!
If you watch any of YouTube’s most popular content creators, you may have seen the video from Calfreezy ‘I Built A £20,000 World Cup Watchzone!’ that’s reached well over 1.1m views.
Calfreezy and his team got in contact with us to help set up a unique watch party for the World Cup England vs USA game back on the 25th of November 2022!
They already had an event space in place – the fantastic Patchworks in Leyton, E10 – they just needed us to help with the design, production and management of the event itself to make it optimal for YouTube content creation!
The Brief
Calfreezy did a watch party for the Euros the year prior, where he and his team converted his entire rooftop into a watch-along party space:
For the World cup, he wanted to do things even bigger, this time opting for a dedicated venue space and inviting a load of YouTube content creators and influencers along to make a viral video.
So they got in contact with us to design and produce the visual aspects of the space – the design and production of the venue – and to assist with the running of the event.
They needed the space to be optimised for content creation, offering loads of visual aspects and areas in the venue that would make for good content creation.
Being that this time round it was also in an indoor space, it would be a better area to film and record audio, making for a higher quality video.
The Venue Transformation
The appearance of the venue space was very important for the video, so we needed to consider how the space would be filmed and of course what it would look like on camera. So we needed to design the space with all of these aspects in mind.
We provided all of the furniture and props for the space and created some bespoke aspects such as the picture wall with photos of all of the guests and creators.
We designed the space in CAD software to show Calfreezy and his team prior to producing the real thing so they knew exactly what it would look like:

The venue transformation was fairly straightforward, so we just needed a team to come in on the day of the watch party and transform the space.
Our team worked alongside some other companies, such as XIX Vodka who branded a camper van bar in XIX brand colours and logos.
What Did We Do For The Watch Party?
Our team handled all of the design and production of the space, such as the event decor, screen for viewing, furniture and the aesthetics.
We also provided a ‘confessions booth’ to provide content for the video where the content creators would share unpopular football opinions to add into the video.
Our team also provided the screen and audio, along with all of the images surrounding the screen with funny photos of the content creators and guests. Again, this was to provide content for the video!
We helped with the other aspects of the event such as managing the food and drinks side of the watch party; they had Nandos come in and provide some bespoke branded napkins and food on the day.
Nike provided some wearables for the content creators – England Home football shirts and hoodies.
There was also XIX Vodka who came in to wrap the van/bar in XIX Vodka branding, who also provided the alcohol at the event.
XIX also provided some of the games in the space, such as the shot power game and more.
