Known for our bold and dynamic event concept design, our team embraced the challenge of creating two unique Halloween themes—each tailored to a different venue—with creativity that comes naturally to us.
Having produced a SAW-inspired and Texas Chainsaw Massacre Halloween venue transformation in 2023 for TABU and REIGN nightclub, our client approached us again for their Halloween events in 2024.
This time with two brand new concepts to work with:
The London REIGN nightclub, whose venue we transformed with an Egyptian Halloween theme.We also transformed their sister nightclub, TABU, with a chilling Asylum venue transformation
Designing the Halloween Venue Transformation
Creative event designis the crux of any successful event theming. Michael, our event director, took the helm on this one.
The Brief: create fully immersive spaces where guests could interact with scares, atmospheric theming, and unforgettable Halloween entertainment.
What was the client’s goal with these Halloween events?
Our client wanted to completely transform their club for an elevated guest experience. Generating fresh buzz around their nightclub destination.
Each theme was carefully curated for high-impact visuals, complete with immersive scare moments and photo-worthy set installations.
By creating unforgettable Halloween events, Julia Charles Event Management reaffirmed the nightclub’s position as the go-to destination for seasonal nightlife events in London.

What spooky themes took over TABU and REIGN?
We brought two bold, immersive Halloween concepts to life—each tailored to the distinct character of the venue.
What made these Halloween themes immersive?

REIGN – An Egyptian Terror Adventure
At REIGN, guests stepped into the Reign of Terror Age of the Pharaoh,where ancient Egypt met dark fantasy!
The nightclub is laid out like a Pandora’s box, leading guests down a dramatic staircase into the main bar and VIP staging area. We used all the areas of the venue layoutthat led to this room, creating a journey through bespoke set design and venue transformation.
The team assisted in erecting a giant Anubis prop for the main stage theming.
Guest Entrance
The blank canvas our event producers were tasked with transforming, using a bespoke set design by Michael that reimagined Tutankhamun’s tomb with eerie Halloween elements.Our event production team brought the entrance to life with a dramatic Tutankhamun’s tomb set, immersing guests in the theme from the moment they arrived.Our event set dressers applied the finishing touches to this entrance installation, carefully painting it to match the blood-soaked Halloween theme and complete the set design.
Concept Design vs Final Production
The event design concept created by Michael for an Egyptian-themed entrance installation, inspired by Tutankhamun’s tomb, was created as part of a dramatic venue transformation.Custom-built Egyptian-style entrance inspired by Tutankhamun’s tomb, created by our team for REIGN nightclub’s Halloween transformation. This set design featured actors who could hide behind the tomb and scare posing guests, adding to the overall immersion factor!
The Cloakroom
Transforming the cloakroom nook meant paying attention to every detail—from hanging chains to blood-splattered walls. Our set decorators are experts at bringing immersive environments to life.Event Director Michael led the production at REIGN nightclub, working closely with our team of set dressers and production specialists to create custom walls, props, and immersive effects that brought the Halloween Egyptian experience to life.Our event set dressers used a range of techniques to get the details just right, such as splattering the bespoke wall decor with red paint to get a blood effect for this prison design.
Michael’s event concept for the cloakroom transformed the space into a grim, long-forgotten prison cell—complete with chains for guests to pose with. Making use of small spaces like this is key to transforming every aspect of the venue layout and maximising the overall experience.Bringing the prison cell concept to life was a fantastic creative challenge for the team, from perfecting the eerie lighting ambience to installing a particularly stubborn prison door!
Our event design team were tasked with creating a custom-built Egyptian market set installation where scare actors could spook guests! This was the first feature to greet guests as they entered the main bar area, and before they entered the VIP and stage area. So it needed to build intrigue and suspense!
We used all sorts of props to bring the market together, from hanging pots, to cages styled with gory findings.Our event set dressers used a variation of textiles and fabric inspired by Ancient Egypt. Using them to style the stall for an authentic touch and visual touch.Our production team didn’t hold back on the Halloween event set dressing elements. From hanging chains to bones and snakes – perfect for rattling and spooking!We also included eye-catching Egyptian inspired trinkets you might find at a mystery market such as lamps and hidden boxes. As this was a Halloween event we had to include some gruesome props! Our event set dressers didn’t hold back with the gore factor, decorating the market with some unpurchasable finds!View of the market from behind the stall where scare actors could hide or barter with guests – with some spooky consequences!
Concept Design vs Final Production
Michael designed the market concept with the event space in mind, carefully considering the guest experience from the moment they entered through the hallway to their exit into the VIP room. This area also served as a main bar and networking hub, making it essential to create an interactive and immersive Halloween setup that delivered a truly unique experience.The completed set design for REIGN Nightclub—a bespoke Egyptian-themed marketplace we created for their immersive Halloween event.

TABU – A Haunting Visit to the Asylum
TABU is located just a short distance from REIGN, in the same vibrant area of London.
We went full throttle with a chilling asylum themed experience. The set design led guests through a nightmarish abandoned institution, using distressed set pieces, blood-smeared walls and authentic hospital props to create a scream! Check out the Halloween event production below.
The Entrance
To welcome guests at TABU nightclub London we made sure there were some gory hospital themed props waiting for them. Our event set dressers combined detailed and authentic props from old medicine boxes to organ-filled mason jars and empty pill boxes.From the moment guests stepped inside the front door it was important to set the grim tone of the Asylum! The Stairwell
Our Halloween event set dressers transformed the walls of the entrance with hanging white drapes smeared in fake blood with a hellish Hospital sign and gory drip bags hanging from the walls!To add extra gore our Halloween venue transformation included details such as blood splattered drip bags hanging from the stairwell landing. To bring authenticity to any theme our team are diligent with details! Painting this whiteboard with terrifying blood smeared signs and handprints to set the tone of what was to come.Our Halloween venue styling greeted guests on the stairwell landing with this gruesome scene—a chilling warning of what awaited deeper in the Asylum. As guests made their way down into the nightclub, our Halloween venue styling took an even more sinister turn. With the inhabitants of the Asylum having left some haunting messages…
“No Return”“Stay Out”“Why are you here?”
The “Weighting” Room
In the main bar area the team had a vision for the doctors “weighting” room. With rusty old weighing scales, doctors coat and medical relics. All part of bringing together the immersive abandoned hospital experience before guests entered the main lounge.Our Halloween event set dressers sourced authentic props to decorate the bar area in TABU. Using old branded medicine jars, weighing scales and medical props. Would you like to step onto the scales now? For this Halloween set design we made sure to use authentic props that guests could interact with. The main bar area that we styled with various old hospital relics such as posters, jars and medical props to bring the Asylum theme to life. Old medical posters and written notes were used as part of the detailed event decor we used to style this venue for the hospital theme.
The Main Lounge
Sourcing original hospital equipment such as operation lighting, our Halloween theming included eery set ups for guests to immerse themselves in.To ensure an authentic touch, our team used old props such as electric machines to bring to life the idea of the torturous going ons at the Asylum. This was used as part of a larger set design. A hospital Halloween set design isn’t complete without medical trays full of gory relics! Our custom Halloween props include putting together various elements to create unique and realistic props such as this. Guests were warned to “Avoid the ward after dark!” This Halloween set design was the perfect gory backdrop for photos for the immersive Halloween event. Each table had it’s own mason jar centrepiece full of orange liquid and old organs. We used folding screens straight from the doctors office to divide space and create more intimate seating areas for guests to chill. The Halloween event set dressers used wheelchairs to replace traditional seating in the nightclub. This original touch added some Halloween magic to the venue transformation and invited guests into a new experience.
Socials…Making a Scream!
The Halloween events at TABU and REIGN were a screaming success. Guests immersed themselves in the themed environments, posed with dramatic set designs, and revelled in TABU’s hypnotic, terrifying entertainment. Our event production team loved bringing these bold concepts to life and transforming both venues into unforgettable experiences.
